Even though you own the home, we take care of your house and yard maintenance for a small monthly fee so you can spend more time doing what you love. Many residents tend to their own gardens or spend time in our communal garden, while others prefer to take a course at our Uplands Lifelong Learning Institute and continue to learn for a lifetime. Many of our residents even choose to volunteer their time on campus at Fletcher House or Wharton Homes.

As an independent living resident, your membership fee provides priority admissions and discounts for all services and accommodations offered at Uplands Village, including priority access to the next level of care should health needs change.

Independent living homes are available to own or rent, or you can build your own forever home at Uplands Village! We offer over 150 single-family homes, 57 duplexes, and two geodesic domes in a variety of neighborhoods. Live remotely on the picturesque lakefront or within walking distance of our many campus amenities.
If you don’t want the responsibilities that come with homeownership, Uplands Village’s rental program allows residents to lease a home month-to-month for an inclusive rate that covers home maintenance and repairs.
